An unfinished attic turned into a quilting studio, a guest room, a guest bathroom and a sitting area.
A fireplace remodel is one of the few pieces of work that changes how a room is arranged rather than just how it looks.
The stonework is the visible half. The other half is making the fire something you use on an ordinary Tuesday: a wall switch, a programmable thermostat or remote operation, and a high-efficiency unit that cuts what the room costs to heat.
We have built these as single hearths, as two-storey stone chimney breasts, as fireplaces on screened porches, and as one piece of joinery combining a fireplace with a built-in entertainment center.
